Almost nothing is better than spending a day with your favourite celebrities, playing your favourite sport and on top of it, learn some cool badminton strokes.

Yes! The OSIM badminton clinic is here again.

This year, we have 10 youths from Singapore Boys’ Town to learn from 3 of our Singapore’s top badminton shuttlers: Gu Juan, Fu Ming Tian and Derek Wong. Not only are they being coached personally by our Singapore badminton celebrities, they even got a chance to play with them.

OSIM BWF World Superseries

The annual OSIM BWF World Superseries is here again!

 You can now get to see your favourite badminton stars blazing the courts at the Li Ning Singapore Open this 19^th-24^th June 2012 in our very own Singapore Indoor Stadium.

 In fact, this is our second year as a global title sponsor of the BWF World Superseries. For those who do not know, the OSIM BWF World Superseries is a 12-tournament series where top badminton players compete throughout the year for a place in the Finals.

World’s top shuttlers shared skills and tips with youths from Boys’ Town in exclusive OSIM badminton clinic.

As part of the OSIM BWF World Superseries, OSIM organized an exclusive badminton clinic and invited 15 lucky youths from Boys’ Town to exchange strokes with two of the world’s top badminton players, Lin Dan and Boonsak Ponsana.

The clinic was conducted by Coach Richard Yeo, from the Chinese Swimming Club Li Ning Badminton Academy, who taught the youths badminton skills and moves.

Besides getting up-close with Lin Dan and Boonsak Ponsanna, ranked 2^nd and 6^th in the world respectively, the youths also received first-hand tips from the two top players. They even had a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice and traded strokes with the two shuttlers.

When asked what his secret to success was, Lin Dan replied: “There are no shortcuts to success, only by putting in more effort than others would you emerge the champion.”

“An athlete’s role is not just about winning gold medals,” Lin Dan also said. “The top shuttlers need to work together to make badminton loved globally. I think that is what is good for badminton.”

At the end of the clinic, the youths were treated to a photo session with Lin Dan and Boonsak Ponsanna, and they got to bring home a specially autographed photo each. They were also treated to seats for tournament and catch other top players in action.
